Brian McIver last night resigned as manager of the Donegal senior footballers.
The Tyrone native informed the players of his decision following the 2-12 to 1-07 defeat to Monaghan in Omagh.
McIver led Ballinderry to an All-Ireland club title in 2002 and took charge of Donegal in September 2005 following Brian McEniff’s reign.
He led Donegal to last year’s All-Ireland Championship quarter-finals before guiding the county to their first ever National Football League title in April.
