Ballinderry’s bid to regain supremacy in Derry football in 2008 has been boosted by the news that Brian McGuckin has joined their ranks for next season.
The former Tyrone attacker has moved from Edendork to join the former All-Ireland champions.
McGuckin is due to move to the area in the new year as a newly-wed.
One of the top scorers in Tyrone over the past six seasons, he will be a huge asset to the Ballinderry attacking unit.
McGuckin’s association with the Shamrocks club will not be a new one as his family has its roots in the area and and his father Mick played for Ballinderry for many seasons.
Brian, who represented Tyrone at minor and senior level, has already achieved considerable success in management.
He was in charge of the Tyrone Vocational Schools side that won the All-Ireland title earlier this year.
